Clearbell is operated by Simon Taylor, trading as Clearbell, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data collected through clearbell.io and the Clearbell service.
If you have any questions about how we handle your data, contact us at hello@clearbell.io.
As part of our service, we may collect publicly available information about competitor websites you ask us to monitor. This is limited to technical and publicly visible data (page speed, SEO signals, uptime) and does not include personal data about individuals.
We carry out limited B2B cold email outreach to small UK businesses (solicitors, accountants, and similar professional services firms) whose websites we believe could benefit from our service. The data we hold for this purpose is:
This processing relies on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR), supported by the B2B email exemption in regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). A documented Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA) is held internally and reviewed annually.
Your rights: Every outreach email contains an unsubscribe link, and a reply asking us to stop will be honoured immediately. We retain prospect contact details for a maximum of 6 months from last contact attempt with no engagement, after which they are deleted. Unsubscribe records (suppression list) are retained for 2 years to ensure we do not contact unsubscribed prospects again.

When you arrive at clearbell.io from a paid ad, the URL may include a campaign identifier (e.g. msclkid from Microsoft Ads, utm_* parameters). We capture and store these to know which marketing channels are working. We periodically share these identifiers back to the originating ad platform (e.g. Microsoft Ads) so that platform can record whether their ad led to a free audit or paid signup. We do not share them with any other third party, and we do not use them to track your behaviour on the site.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), restricted access to personal data, and regular security monitoring of our infrastructure.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of any security vulnerability related to our service, please contact us immediately at hello@clearbell.io.
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, in accordance with Article 33 of UK GDPR. If the breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will also notify you directly without undue delay, with a plain-language description of what happened, what data was affected, and what steps you can take.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes by email. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
